Min: Foreign currency purchase restart by cbank not to drown ruble
PARIS, Dec 17 (PRIME) – Central bank’s resumption of foreign currency purchases on the Russian market will not weaken the ruble at the end of January, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin told reporters on Monday.
“This is return to business as usual. Our purchases will not be big in volumes due to lower oil prices. And by the way, they will coincide with a seasonally strong quarter for the balance of payments.”
The ruler said on December 14 that it will resume regular purchases of foreign currency on the market for the Finance Ministry on January 15.
